Successful PATRAM25 in celebratory year at NTS

Nuclear Transport Solutions’ (NTS) successful PATRAM25 as it celebrates milestone anniversaries and award win.
The highlight of this year’s symposium was an award win for employee Emma Sayce, Criticality Safety Assessor. Emma won the prestigious Aoki Award for Distinguished Oral Presentation for her presentation on Criticality Safety Assessment for a New Design High-Assay Low-Enriched Uranium (HALEU) Transport Package (Pegasus).
Pegasus is NTS’s world-leading HALEU package, the fuel which will power the development of new Small Modular Reactors (SMRs) and Advanced Modular Reactors (AMRs). It is vital for the new generation of nuclear power and to the world’s ambitions to drastically reduce carbon output.
Emma said: “I was thrilled when they told me I’d won the award. PATRAM is a huge event and there were other well-revered companies in attendance, so to be recognised in that company was fantastic.
“I’m proud to have been able to represent NTS and all the work that’s gone into the Pegasus package.”

PATRAM is an International Symposium on the Packaging and Transportation of Radioactive Materials. It’s a triennial event where experts from around the world gather to discuss and share information related to the safe and secure transportation of radioactive materials.
There were also presentations on NTS’s illustrious history and expertise in nuclear shipping and rail operations.
This year, NTS’s shipping division Pacific Nuclear Transport Limited celebrated 50 years of shipping excellence, and Direct Rail Services, NTS’s rail division celebrated 30 years of safe, secure and reliable rail transportation.
It’s this knowledge, experience and skill that has ensured NTS is the world-leading nuclear transport and logistics specialist, and the organisation governments and other companies rely on.
