Gold standard: Reward for supporting Armed Forces

Nuclear Transport Solutions’ (NTS) ongoing commitment to supporting the Armed Forces community has been recognised with a prestigious Ministry of Defence (MoD) Gold Award.

Representing the highest badge of honour, Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS) Gold Awards are given to those that employ and support people who serve, veterans and their families.

The ERS encourages employers to support both serving and former armed forces personnel, while aligning with the values of the Armed Forces Covenant – a promise to treat servicemen and women fairly.

NTS is a proud supporter of the armed forces, employing a number of people who have served our country, while encouraging Reserves to take time off for training and deployment.

NTS also plays an active role within the community it serves, and has supported the Barrow Sea Cadets for many years.

Achieving the ERS Gold Award has been a long-standing goal of those who worked for International Nuclear Services (INS) before the company united its expertise with Pacific Nuclear Transport Ltd and Direct Rail Services to create NTS earlier this year.

Seth Kybird, Chief Executive Officer of NTS, said: “We’re delighted our support for the Armed Forces community has been recognised with a Gold Award. We employ a number of Reservists and former service personnel and it has been amazing to see just how far those skills transfer into the business environment. It really is a win-win situation.”

Announcing the awards, Minister for Defence People and Veterans, Leo Docherty said: “I would like to thank all the organisations who have proven their support for the Defence community during such unprecedented and challenging times.

“The vast range of those recognised this year demonstrates how employing the Armed Forces community makes a truly positive and beneficial impact for all employers, regardless of size, sector or location.”
