Chris Watson named new WNTI Chairman
Chris Watson has promised ambition, creativity, and innovation after being named Chairman of the World Nuclear Transport Institute (WNTI).
The Nuclear Transport Solutions (NTS) Director is well respected within the industry, and replaces David Ohayon after four years at the helm.
Chris was appointed a WNTI Director three years ago, and spoke of his pride at taking over its leadership.
He said: “I am both honoured and excited to become the new WNTI Chairman.
“WNTI has had a hugely successful 23 years so far, and is ready to enter a new chapter to secure the future for safe, secure, reliable, and sustainable nuclear transport.
“I will encourage ambition, creativity, and innovation as we deliver outcomes that serve the members and the sector.”
Chris has enjoyed a varied career, holding a number of Executive roles, most recently as Strategy and Technical Director for International Nuclear Services (INS).
When the shipping experts and their rail counterparts at Direct Rail Services joined forces to create a specialist nuclear transport division, Chris was made Technology and Solutions Director.
Martin Porter, WNTI’s Secretary General, said: “Chris’s counsel has long been a key feature of WNTI Board activity and his proven track record of strong leadership will, without doubt, preserve WNTI’s position and introduce new directions and innovations.”
