Denial and Delay of Shipment
Trusted experts
NTS serves as the UK’s National Focal Point for Denials and Delays in the transport of radioactive material, a role designated by the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero. As the centre of transport expertise within the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority (NDA), NTS acts as a key liaison between UK government departments—including the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero and the Department of Health and Social Care—and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).

Our responsibilities include monitoring the UK’s transport environment, identifying and validating reported cases of denials and delays, maintaining a national log, and notifying the IAEA where appropriate. We also coordinate with stakeholders across the UK to support the resolution of transport issues and represent the UK at the IAEA’s Working Group on Denials and Delays. Through this work, NTS helps to ensure the continued safe, secure, and efficient movement of radioactive materials.
NTS can help you with your radioactive shipments and prevent denial or delays. Please use the form below, select “general enquiry” and our team will respond as quickly as possible.
