Innovative solutions
A range of efficient, innovative and sustainable technical rail solutions for customers in nuclear and non-nuclear sectors.
Our collaborative approach works on the principle of putting customer needs at the heart of everything we do. It means we work closely with all our customers in both the nuclear and non-nuclear sectors to deliver industry-leading efficiency and value for money. This is one of the reasons we regularly achieve the best on-time rail delivery statistics year-on-year.
A sharp focus on safety, security and reliability, along with our commitment to helping customers achieve the highest levels of performance, has led us to introduce a wide range of technical innovations which are delivering real benefits to our customers.
A focus on the environment
Launched in 2014, the Class 68 is a high-speed, low-carbon locomotive ideal for freight routes and other applications. 2017 saw the introduction of the Class 88 locomotive which can cover electrified and non-electrified areas of the rail network, using electricity as a clean, renewable source of energy and delivering the highest standards of efficiency and emissions in the industry.
Our flexible and efficient fleet of locomotives and rolling stock allow us to continue to deliver industry-leading rail services across the UK network.
Innovative wagon design
We’ve led the design, development and construction of two generations of nuclear flask wagons, also known as Flatrol Nuclear Airbrake (FNA) vehicles which are easier and more economical to operate, and cheaper to maintain. Our lowliner container wagons enable freight access to many previously height restricted areas of the UK network.
